Inspired by our recently completed September challenge, Crossing the Threshold, this composite takes the theme quite literally, creating a divide between the urban world and the natural one. The city street cuts through a lush meadow, framed by towering mountains, with a deer grazing peacefully at the boundary.

The artwork uses a split complementary harmony, with the royal blue of the foreground flowers (and the deep blues in the shadows) balanced by the warm orange and pale yellow that dominate the rest of the scene. The warm, unified color grade helps bring these otherwise disparate elements together, making an impossible landscape feel surprisingly believable.
