Professional training now accessible to all
Nucly offers online training for creatives from professionals in the industry. Learn the tools, techniques and workflows used by successful industry professionals in graphic design and photography.
Nucly was created by Creative Director Rikard Rodin, who has been a successful graphic designer for 15 years. After seeing many new designers who didn't grasp the fundamentals of design, he began a blog with comprehensive articles on basic design principles. From color harmony, typography, mood lines and more, his articles quickly became essential reference guides for designers around the world.
At the suggestion of a fellow photographer and friend, Rikard next began to do courses on the actual tools used in design, starting with the Adobe Creative suit. His aim here was to get designers efficient in their tools so that they can focus on creative ideas rather than what button to press.
Creative Director Rikard Rodin
Rikard is a Creative Director with a background in virtually every aspect of the creative industry. He started young, working in a darkroom when he was 16 years old, color correcting photos before Photoshop existed. He’s worked his way up and to the side of the creative industry, spending the last 15 years as designer, art director and creative director.
Heading up the marketing design department of an international organization for 6 years, Rikard worked on international goodwill campaigns, packaging, book covers, posters and virtually every form of advertising design. He has personally run printing presses, manned hot stamping machines, screen printing presses and even acid etched metal dies. In addition to his hands-on experience, Rikard has worked with some of the leading professionals in the design, illustration, printing and packaging fields.
Rikard is proficient in graphic design, web and interactive design, 3D modeling and video and motion graphics. His designs include 20 published books, upward of 100 albums and full print advertising campaigns that were translated in more than 15 languages, reaching an international audience. His designs have won upward of 25 design awards.
After his own success in the graphic design field, Rikard started to help other designers and artists through his design blog, zevendesign.com. His articles have featured in international publications on design and have reached hundreds of thousands of individual designers. More recently, he guest lectured on color theory at Chapman University.
On a more personal note, Rikard is a father of twin girls, loves photography and woodworking.
"I've been using Photoshop since the mid 90s (version 3 - 7), but have learned more from your instructional videos in the past two months than I had learned using Photoshop the past 20 years! It's a whole new ball game. "
